My Life Lately.....

Ok, so my title just doesn't demonstrate how TOTALLLY EXCITED I am.....but that might be the cold affecting my head.....just couldn't come up with much else.....But I AM excited...for several reasons.....
  1. I just had my 17th Birthday........ok, a little scary........I'M 17??? AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!....but exciting.....I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in the next year......which goes into some of the other reasons i am excited....but lets start at the biginning.....
  2. I HAD AN AWESOME WEEKEND AT A FRIENDS HOUSE.......her birthday was this week as well, we are 3 days apart...except she is a year older.....she lives in Houston, where we used to live, so we had to make a trip of it.....the best part was, SHE DIDN"T KNOW A THING.......we got there and I walked in.....and yeah, IT WAS FUN.........we watched Alice in Wonderland.....which is....ok......i don't know how to compare it to the origional, cuz it was the first thing that i had ever actually watched related to AiW.......I had never been interested before....but the trailers looked pretty good.....anyway..the best part was Saturday.....WE WENT TO A GUN RANGE FOR A WOMANS SHOOTING CLASS.....for the first time ever, i shot a real hand gun(and since i didn't own one, I got to use on of the teachers extras, which happened to be a REALLLY good gun) and, not to uh brag, but I DID REALLY WELL.....The orange circle(added in) is the general Area of my first shot....and the bit of an orange dot in the middle of the pic is the bullseye....as you can see, it's almost none existent.......Un fortunetly....I forgot a hat, and sunscreen......i did manage to have sunglasses....THANK GOD.....but it was HOT.....and we were out there for 3 hours.......and I had a cold, couldn't talk, and forgot to eat breakfast, cuz i couldn't first thing, to congested......we thought that i had already gotten the cold earlier in the week, and only had a mild one, so we had gone to our friends and I GOT WORSE.......lost my voice, and wanted to take a box of Tylenol, and a bottle of NyQuil(I AM SOO MAD, THAY CHANGED THEIR RECIPIE........anywho.....) anyway, so after the gun range, I was hungary, a little dehydrated, though i did have water, i couldn't drink enough as I should've(cuz of cold)hot.....AND I LOOKED BURNT REDISH/ORANGE.......the only time i didn't want the burnt orange.....hehe.......good thing we have a whole bottle of Aloe Vera Gel........
  3. Well, This summer is full of Trips, On the 10th of July, I am heading up to ......uh I am not sure where, for a conference like trip called Journey to the Heart, hosted by the Institute in Basic Life Principles.....I come home on the 20th, and we leave the 21st or 22nd for a cousins wedding in Colorado.......I hope that we can relax some in August......no major projects no trips....just us and close friends time.....(Soccer everyweekend......and such.....)
  4. ok.......I FINALLY GOT SOME PRODUCE FROM MY GARDEN......i have had no end of trouble from my garden.....and I thought i would never get a solitary tomatoe or squash or cucumber or bean......or others....AND TODAY I FOUND A SQUASH THAT I HADN"E EVEN SEEN BEFORE.....IT"S HUGE.......so i picked it.....also, I found a really good book that i love, and just HAVE to share....It's called The Complete Guide to Compost Gardening........very cool, and useful, and colorful.......and it has a picture that i love....it's like PA or sumting north in the fall.......red little barn.....really pretty......though that's not the reason i love the book...I love it cuz it is full of ways to garden organically.......seriously it is almost the only book i am going to need from now on........almost but not quite.....This branches into my next number.....
  5. Now....NOTHING is currently happening.....but, we are looking for land somwhere near town....but out of town......(lower taxes you know.....) we have to stay near for daddy's work, or we would move like EUBER close to church.....but i am excited......i want a place to have a COMPLETE kitchen garden, and room for my milk goats, and chickens, and i would like horses....but the first think i will get is a beagle and golden retriever, and a black kitten....plus a few others......I might even start dog breeding......and cats are easy too......anyway......then I want to get rabbits........and I have a project in mind......as some of you know, and as many don't, I am a celiac.......it means i have sesitivities to Gluten, a protien found in Wheat, Rye and Barley....(oats are questionable.....) It just hit me recently, out of the HUNDREDS of grains out there, I ONLY HAVE TO AVOID 3......SO WHY COULDN"T I GROW SEVERAL OF THE OTHERS and make my own flours and starches......so I want to work on that.......and experiment with REEEL COWNTREE LEEVING......of course, noting is going forward at the moment.....like i said before....but we are looking...and i am overly excited.......so i am getting it out of my system....hehe......
Well that's my life recently...and lately.....and i gotta go now.....

VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found this this weekend......and I am SOOOOOOOO excited....I love the Chronicles of Narnia, and It looks like they are closer to the book than Prince Caspian was....Though I don't know why Susan and Peter are at the end of the trailer, in Narnia.......anyway here it is......as with HTTYD, VOTDT is under TRAILERS

AWSOME TESTIMONY OF AN AWSOME GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in April, a friend of mine emailed me asking to pray for a girl in her church who was in a car accident, a very severe accident.......the doctors weren't able to give any hope at first, and were very surprised at the outcome.....My friend was gracious enough to send me what i believe the blogging reports of her family on her progress, with permission to share it with EVERYONE......so here it is. note: names have been changed to protect the innocent.....;}.....Woo

Susan was in a car accident at 6 pm Tuesday April 13th. she was then air lifted to Iowa city for better care. keep praying that her condition will get better. Susan is a very fun person. she enjoys golfing, bowling and spending time with her many cats the most. she is 16 years old. Susan favorite color is definitely purple. she has many great friends and is a good friend in return.
Comments from Connie: When the other car hit Susan her heart jumped which the doctors said happens in bad car collisions. When the heart jumps it tears up the heart tissue, most people that have this happen don’t even make it to the hospital let alone to a hospital then another hospital and hanging on until 24 hours later when they thought she might make it through the surgery.

still in surgery...
Posted Apr 14, 2010 10:41pm
Susan is still in surgery as of 9:45pm.....we are all praying for a good report!
Comments from Connie: Susan went into surgery for her abdomen first as they had given her almost a gallon of blood and it all went to her abdomen area. That surgery went well, so they sent her off for this surgery on the heart. She is still in critical condition.

Praise God!
Posted Apr 15, 2010 1:34am
12:25 a.m. Susan's aeorta surgery went well. Her aeorta was 95% torn but they were able to repair it in 6 hour surgery, and thankfully less than 1 hour on the bypass machine (which creates the risk). The Doctor said things look good and went well and she is stable. She has more surgery's to go and a long journey – but this is fabulous AWESOME news. This surgery was, in the Doctor's words, her most difficult and urgent, with risk, and God chose to bring her through well with skilled Doctors,..

All things are possible!
Posted Apr 15, 2010 11:11am
There is nothing that is to big or to messed up, to hard, etc that Jesus cant handle! We need to realize that God's hand is POWERFULLY working through Susan's body and all of us who are praying for her!
Now that we have prayed, continue praying and are seeing God's response, we need to take time to PRAISE and THANK God for being sooo good and answering our cries. Without God, Susan dn't be here with us, but in his great mercy and love, He is healing Susan!
Take time today to reflect on God's goodness and how much He loves you! He is big! He is holy! But He is also right next to you! Big....but a very intimate and loving God!
Please use the following verses to dive into his goodness today!
Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 8:37-39; John 16:33

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." - Matt 19:26

Susan getting feisty
Posted Apr 16, 2010 10:37pm
Susan is getting stronger. She just tryed to grab the nurse and bit the toothbrush and suction tube. Susan also now knows about this web page we have all been talkin to her about it. That just proves how far she has come. Thanks for all of your support and prayers, they are really helping.
Comments from Connie: At this point we don’t know if she has brain damage or not. With the hit she got the doctors say the likelihood that she does is great. So this is encouraging news.

Saturday morning
Posted Apr 17, 2010 9:35am
Seen Susan this morning, she was awake and will follow commands. She squizes her fingers, wiggles her toes and will shake her head to answer your questions.

Saterday's big visit
Posted Apr 17, 2010 6:26pm
Just had to share that we had a great group of visitors today. We had a great group from Grace Baptist Church and the WSR Bowling coach's and some for Susan’s friends. She had a great time and was involved as she could be. She opened her eyes and watched and listened and turned her head to follow the talking and laughing. She is tired now but it was worth it. Susan says thanks so much.
Comments from Connie: Grace Baptist Church is the one our family goes to, this is how we know Susan.

Saterday Night
Posted Apr 17, 2010 10:22pm
Susan is resting nicely after her big day. Tonight she tryed to move her mouth to try to speak. We tried to explain that she can't speak yet. She is staying awake more and trying to process where she is. She doesn't understand yet and is starting to get scared. she could use some prayers of support to help her start to understand and except what has happened. She says thanks and LOVE YOU ALL.:):):)

SunDay Morning
Posted Apr 18, 2010 9:05am
Susan is awake and communicating. When we came in this morning she waved to us. She is trying to take the tubes out of her mouth so she can talk to us. She doesn't understand where she is or why she is here. All vital signs look good.

Sunday afternoon

Susan will have a peaceful night. The family is holding up well for Susan. Please smile a lot today because we know Susan would like that. Thanks for your LOVE.

Wednesday Morning
Posted Apr 21, 2010 11:33am
Susan is resting good. She had her brain monitor removed this morning. This was a good step. They are working on waking her up very slowly.
Comments from Connie: The main reason they took Susan off the brain monitor is because it was showing normal for several days, so they decided to take her off it.

Peter update
Posted Apr 21, 2010 11:46am
Peter is back home. He went last might in front of his Eagle Scout Board of Review. He did very well and passed. He is now an EAGLE SCOUT.
Just wanted to say the whole family is very proud.
Peter is Susan’s younger brother, it is the 2 of them in their family. As you probably can tell it is Peter who is doing the updates for Susan, this one was probably their mom writing this. A good thing to make sure he still feels loved.

Wednesday afternoon
Posted Apr 21, 2010 5:48pm
Susan is still trying to wake up. Her blood pressure is trying to go up. She just can't seem to find her next happy place with this state of wakefulness.
The Doctors are trying to get the fever under control. They think she may be trying to catch namonia. Which they said is somewhat common with post operative patients.

Thursday Morning

Susan had a good night. Her blood pressure is back down.
They are going to try a different combination of pain medicines today. The Doctors were also talking about an anxiety medication.

Friday night
Posted Apr 23, 2010 9:46pm
Well today was a slow day. Susan has changed to a new pain med. that seems to be working a little better. She still isn't awake but is starting to show signs of waking up.
The doctors are taking it slow and easy.

Saturday Morning

Susan had a really good night. Her blood pressure is back down to 90 to 100 which is very good. The nurse said she has opened her eyes during her bath.

Susan is doing fine her blood pressure is staying level. her temp. is coming and going. That is normal they say.
She is waking up. She opens her eyes and has moved her hand for us.
This is the day that Melody got to go see Susan along with our church family. I had other stuff I already committed to doing. My brother also went along, and Susan’s dad, Tim showed him my brother Edmund a picture of Susan’s car. Edmund’s comment was, “If I wasn’t told that it was a car I would have thought it a pile of scrap metal. Looks nothing like a car on her side.”

Sunday Morning
Posted Apr 25, 2010 7:45am
Susan had a great night. She is more awake and starting to communicate.
Last night she got to do a pressure test on the ventilator, that is breathing on her own without the help of the
ventilator, she did this for 1 hour without any trouble. Today she will do these tests again to see how well she is doing.

Sunday Night
Posted Apr 25, 2010 8:36pm
Well Susan is making improvements. She was able to breath by her self through the machine all day. (6:30am-7:30pm)
We just had to put her back to sleep for the night because she tried to get out of bed. She had 6 nurses and daddy to get back laying in bed. All during this workout her blood pressure only went to about 130ish.
The Doctors said these are all good signs.

Monday Morning

Susan is off the breathing machine!!!!!
She is even trying to talk. This should be happening by this evening.

Monday Evening
Posted Apr 26, 2010 8:51pm

Susan still is having a hard time with where she is and how she got here. She also gets very scared at times.
